5 Underrated House Labels
There are some DJs out there grow enough of a following to use that influence to help other artists gain exposure by starting their own labels. With their incredible taste, these DJs curate bucketloads of amazing tracks from different artists that match a particular style. I love finding underrated labels and scavenging them for incredible music no one's ever heard of
You have some of the known labels, like Anjunadeep, This Never Happened, or Stereohype, but I want to get into some of the underrated sources of amazing house music that I use to pack my libary full of bangers that get people moving.
Low Ceiling
Don't Blink is a classic example of curation that exceeds their own work, with their label receiving 10 times as many SoundCloud followers as their own label. In my own library, I typically box these tracks into the "Bangin Basslines" playlist, because each of these tracks... well.. has a bassline that bangs.
Glasgow Underground
Kevin McKay in Glasgow has been running this label for over 10 years, and what I find impressive about this label is the sheer volume of tracks they put out. As of this post, 5 tracks came out in the last 2 weeks. They aren't spectacular, but they are consistent groovy tracks, with interesting remixes of pop songs that will keep you vibing for a while.
Ciclo Records
I added this one to the list because if you didn't know, Brazil is a wonderful source of unique electronic music producers. One of the greatest being the well known Vintage Culture. This label is full off music that is both deep and vibey, and I highly recommend scavenging their SoundCloud page.
Colorize
A sublabel of enjanced hailing from London, these guys offer a consistent stream of gorgeous buttery uplifting house. These are the tracks I like to play right at the sunrise.
Odd One Out
Last but definitely not least, this label is the child of one of my favorite artists, Yotto a legend out of Helsinki. He started out in Anjunadeep, but broke off to persue his own creative vision, a more intense and powerful version of the label.
Bonus: Odyzey Music
Okay this isn't a house label, but we like to switch it up every once in a while. This label was started by Clozee who does a fantastic job of curating her bass heavy but vibey sound. I highly reccomend checking them out:
